Q. What is the purpose of ambassadors?
A. The primary purpose of the organization shall be to promote spirit and unity among LSU students and to provide service to both the LSU community and local communities. The Ambassadors organization is designed to assist all members in maximizing their personal, social, and professional growth.
Q. What are the eligibility requirements for applying?
A. Any LSU student may apply for membership given that they are a full-time, undergraduate student maintaining a 2.0 cumulative GPA and not on any academic or disciplinary probation with restriction or deferred suspension with the University during the semester in which they are applying for membership. Once the application deadline has passed, the Membership Chair will collect all applications and verify all information.
Q. do ambassadors get paid?
A. No. Ambassadors is comprised of students who value servant leadership and aiding others without requiring monetary return. While offering quality service to campus organization and local foundations for free is unusual, we consider it to be a testament of our values. As servants of the community, we put the needs of those we serve above our own.
Q. is the ambassadors organization a part of a campus department?
A. Our organization works independently of campus departments so that we may best serve the campus and the community in all capacities without limiting our services. It is part of our governing documents that βthe organization may cooperate with other organizations and agencies, but persons representing the organization in such matters shall make no commitments that bind the organization.β
